An alarming number of food pantries and soup kitchens in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx are being forced to turn people away hungry, a new survey shows.

The government has victimized – make that doubly victimized – millions of legal immigrants who have applied to become United States citizens. Here is federal incompetence writ large.
First, in July, the Citizenship and Immigration Services agency raised fees for naturalization and other matters by a whopping 86%. The jumps were unconscionable, but CIS promised the money would enable it to process applications more efficiently.
Didn’t happen.
